Brainstorming ideas for a sign:

Application of phase 1: Phase 1 could be making a sign that goes under or next to a stop sign. After taking a look at the intersection it seems like there are some poles and signs where a sing could be put on top of. The reason this could improve the current crossing situation as drivers who drive much faster will be alerted by the sign more than a stop sign. Crossing guards are in danger even off the street because of this danger. A crossing guard I interviewed this morning talked to me about how people speed all the time on these narrow lanes and it scares her even when on the sidewalk. The crossing guard will still need to get on to the road to drop off and pick up kids.
